Information about centers at UIUC
UIUC has hired 8 new faculty, several of whom are internationally known in their fields, as part of CWACES, enhancing interdisciplinary strengths that previously existed. Over 30 faculty from 10 departments engaged in water, environmental, socio-economic and policy issues are involved with ISIML. NCSA, the organization that created the first web browser, is engaged internationally in the use of cyber-infrastructure solutions to the management of environmental problems and the advancement of new approaches to data analysis and collection that have transformed the environmental sciences. CWACES, ISIML, and NCSA, acting collectively as a hub, will furnish important integrative support to this project.
