Undergraduate Education at UIUC
At the undergraduate level, students have the opportunity to participate in the Earth Systems, Environment and Society major within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. This new major includes two options: (1) Science of the Earth System and (2) Society and the Environment. The program provides flexibility for undergraduates to craft a curriculum focusing on earth-science or societal dimensions of water-related environmental education. CWACES also participates in the Special Undergraduate Research on the Environment (SURE) and Environmental Fellows programs sponsored by the UIUC Environmental Council to provide research and educational opportunities for undergraduates interested in water-related environmental issues. The Center also pursues and coordinates internship opportunities for undergraduates at federal, state and local environmental agencies.
